Somehow after downloading Reader 8, the icons for ACCESS have all turned to that of Reader 8. When ACCESS ( a database) is backed up it now tries it has the Reader icon. When trying to open the backup or use it in any way it tries unsucessfully to open using Reader 8. Has my computer gone mental? No solution found and my new Vista machine has no restore point. Ugh !!

I contacted them, and they are saying that according to their policies they cannot give back the site/data as they think I have spammed.

But, it is not a spam at all…..its the programmers id the emails were sent (2)

I just want to know if you think I got. Just play judge for a moment. If you were say the judge/prosecutor of my case, what do you think I should of gotten? Were they too easy on me? Too harsh? Or just right (fair)?

I got arrested last month for driving a car that was reported stolen. The police had did a random license check while I was driving. I didn’t actually steal the car, but I kept the car a couple weeks longer than the return date. And figured I’d just pay off the late fees. To make a long story short, I got arrested, guns pointed at me, telling me to lay on the ground, with backup arriving etc. Way overboard, but I understand they have procedures to follow when pursuing someone in a stolen vehicle. Anyway I was placed in a holding cell, then transfered to a jail where I spent about 3 hours in a jail cell until I bailed out for $3,500. Days later, I spoke to the rental company and the detective handling the case. The detective said it got reduced from Grand Theft Auto to Embezzlement of a Vehicle. The rental company just wanted their money. I eventually paid them (totaled to about $2,900). The detective said it most likely won’t go to court. I showed up to court on the given date anyways to be on the safe side. And sure enough, I wasn’t in the database and they said I could go. So now the detective said the dismissal papers are being sent. I asked on here and a lot of people were saying I’d probably be doing time. At best I thought I’d get convicted of a misdemeanor. But it all got dismissed.

What do you think should’ve happen (if you don’t agree with the dismissal)?

GrimJack: I guess you’re another one of the people I see on here that love seeing people go to jail and love talking down to people, to boost your own esteem and moral authority. Yeah, I was irresponsible, I admit. It was a mistake that I learned from though.

Secondly, you clearly have little understanding of how the law/court systems work. For one, they saw I have no criminal record. I’m in my mid 20’s and never have been arrested before. This played in to my favor. Two, I did not steal the car, and the authorities would have to prove that I did, which would have been impossible. Three, the court systems are tied up with many cases, and they do not want to spend taxpayer dollars to focus on minor nonsense against a person that is not a threat to society. Four, what counts to jobs are not arrests, but felony convictions. At most, they may include misdemeanors. ANYONE, innocent or not, can be arrested for anything, and if they’re released and not charged, then it’s meaningless.

And my car insurance didn’t go up, and I can still rent cars. I’ve rented cars for years, but this was the first time I kept it longer.
